Measureable Benefits, Right Away

July 16, 2009 by mikehadley

I can promise local business owners measureable new business profits in spite of tough economic times; so why would anyone say no to giving me a few minutes of their time?

People often rely more on their misconceptions than on demonstrable facts — and I understand that. My solution: I pay referral bonuses. When I receive a warm introduction, people take the time to listen, and that’s game over because what I have is common sense no downside honest to goodness quality new business.

Every business has overhead and expenses. If you can reduce your expenses on the same revenues, you’ve increased profits — right?

You can reduce your expenses, measurably, right away, by forming strategic business alliances that reduce your expenses. May I email you specific examples based upon your business model?

Rephrased, I just asked if you’d take a few minutes of your time to consider what I can offer to you. I don’t charge for my time, so all you or anyone you might refer to me has to lose is a few minutes of their time. I speak to many of Phoenix’s largest and most recognized companies on a regular basis — and I’d like to speak with you and the people you know that run successful local businesses.

My referral program can make the time you give me some of your most highly compensated time, unless you earn more than $1000 an hour.

Think we should get to know each other?

REASONS YOU SHOULD TRADE

July 8, 2009 by mikehadley

Trade is a no-brainer if you have the right business model, these are just some of the benefits proper trade delivers:

New customers — You simply cannot earn this quality new business if you don’t trade because it will go to your competitor who does trade.

New Cash — Arizona Trade Exchange members are quality people who give quality cash referrals; most in their sphere of influence can’t trade because only a business owner who earns trade by providing their services on trade can spend trade.

New Profits — When you eliminate cash expenses by spending your trade dollars your profits increase. For example if your marginal cost to earn a trade dollar is about zero (just your time) and you earn $10,000 in new business, your profits will increase by $8,800 if you eliminate $10,000 in cash expenses (the difference is the commission you pay AZT)

Efficiency – Keep your well oiled machined oiled; your business is more efficient when you’re operating nearer to capacity.

Turn Trade into Cash – Use the trade dollars you earn to advertise to your local target market.

Buy Local — Establish business relationships that will prosper year after year.

Add Capabilities — Meet and establish new business partners to increase your business capabilities. For example, an equipment rental company can offer their customers catering services by partnering with a trade member caterer (and the caterer can offer the rental company’s equipment); the granite countertop company can offer grout cleaning and staining as part of a kitchen remodel by partnering with a trade member; and a restaurant can offer dinner packages that include transportation to and from important sporting events and community events by partnering with a trade member transportation services provider.

Penetrate New Markets – Doors that are currently closed to you open when you become a trade exchange member.

Promote Your Business — The Arizona Trade Exchange is like an unpaid sales force — we are financially motivated to help you trade. We actively promote your business five ways using both inside and outside salespeople.

Receive Superior Service — The businesses who provide you their services on trade WANT to provide you their services over and over on trade — they get new and repeat business, they too leverage their margins and reduce their cash expenses, and they too increase their profits.

Geographic Reach – Your trade customers will drive right by your competitors to come to you because you trade. Trade increases the distance your customers will travel to purchase your services.

Better Than Advertising

July 3, 2009 by mikehadley

I can deliver a better repeat business customer than you can ever get from advertising, and do so without the expense of advertising. Does your business seek new, unique, and quality customers?

I do require you spend the new revenue I’ll deliver to you within the local business community so that your new business becomes another business owner’s new business. Here’s an example:

Sally owns a business and wants new customers. We sit down and identify $2000 in monthly expenses that she writes business checks to pay each month. We agree that I bring Sally $2000 in quality new business and Sally uses that $2000 to pay those expenses; but she pays new vendors that are also looking for new customers, which Sally  represents to them.

Sally’s decision results in new profits, strong business relationships with local vendors, and new word-of-mouth referral customers, all without the expense of advertising.

To get those outcomes, all Sally did was agree to trade her business’ services with other local business owners who are also looking for new customers. These new vendors became attractive to Sally for one simple reason: they accept Sally’s trade business.

Those owners then use the value they receive from Sally to spend for things they need, so they keep their cash just as Sally keeps hers. If you own a business and are open to a creative yet proven way to grow your business let’s talk.

I don’t charge for my time so all you need to do is spend some of yours with me. We’ll know within 30 minutes how much you can grow your business by trading for needed services. Call or email me, 480-440-9440 mikehadley@cox.net.

Growing Profits in a Down Economy

June 17, 2009 by mikehadley

OK, I know this a loaded question, but — If your business could be making more profits but isn’t because you don’t know something, would you want your friends to tell you what that something is?

I’m a consultant,  you don’t buy anything from me; instead you permit me to perform an analysis to show you how much more profit your business can expect to earn should you become a member of The Arizona Trade Exchange.

The reason your business would earn more profits (without increasing cash revenues) is because expenses would significantly decrease

Expenses would significantly decrease because select vendors will service your needs without asking for cash payment. Same cash revenue, less cash expenses, more cash profits.

If your business model is “right” for trading of needed services, proper business trade is a no-brainer. Common sense is the reason a business owner runs as many expenses as possible through his or her business to reduce tax liability; beneficial trade is equally as common sense to increase your profits if you have the right business model. Trade is a privilege that only belongs to a business  owner, the general public cannot benefit.

Consider this simple example:

Harry’s restaurant is profitable but has excess capacity. Harry spends .80 of each revenue dollar on expenses (so profit is 20%). By trading services, Harry decreases his expenses so now he spends .70 of each revenue dollar on expenses (so profit is 30%). The reason Harry’s expenses went down is because his new janitorial service provider, his new hood vent cleaner, his new fire suppression contractor, his new carpet cleaner, his new printer, a new local publisher he advertises with, his new plumber and several other of his vendors all accept Harry’s “trade dollars” instead of cash for their services. Harry earns the trade dollars he needs to pay his trade vendors by doing what he does best: providing great food and cocktails to his new trade customers. Harry’s total net cost to earn a trade dollar is .40, so his actual cost to receive the services he needs becomes .40; Harry now pockets .60 cash for each dollar of services he receives from his trade vendors.

This is crucial to understand: the owners of the companies Harry pays with his trade dollars WANT Harry’s business and will give him the best service they can because they want Harry’s repeat business month after month and year after year.   They will loyally serve Harry because they too  benefit when they spend the trade dollars they earn by providing quality service to Harry.  They were not Harry’s vendors before; they only became Harry’s vendors because they accept trade so Harry represents new business they never would have gotten without providing Harry  their services on trade.

A real perk is that since so few business owners can prosper from beneficial trade, almost all of their referrals are to new cash customers.

Think it might be worth calling me up or emailing me your phone number so we can meet on the phone?

Want cash?

June 15, 2009 by mikehadley

After spending the last ten years of my life consulting business owners on mergers and acquisitions I’ve changed careers. A big thanks to Mike Carr for his introduction to my new employer, The Arizona Trade Exchange. Let me explain what this all means to you…

I can deliver unique, new, quality and qualified customers to local Phoenix area businesses. I have the most common sense way to build and promote your business I’ve ever seen. You’ll get measurable results, right away; build new and longstanding business relationships with local vendors; meaningfully increase your profit margins on this new business; and penetrate new markets in ways that aren’t available to you right now.

Want proof? Contact me. Here’s an example:

Larry owns a local Mathnasium franchise, an after school center that makes learning math easier and fun for its students. Steven is a prominent local attorney and owns his own law firm.

Steven sends his children to Larry to learn math skills. Steven pays Larry with “trade dollars” he earns by providing legal services to local business owners who pay Steven with trade dollars they earn by providing their services to other local business owners.

Larry uses the trade dollars he earns from Steven to buy janitorial supplies, advertising, carpet cleaning, fire sprinkler and extinguisher service, embroidered staff shirts, and restaurant meals for his business clients and his family.

Larry’s cost to earn a trade dollar is his time; but the services he receives by spending his trade dollars would have cost him cash. Since they didn’t, Larry earned cash profits because he educated Steven’s children on trade.

Steven has another Mathnasium closer to his home; if  he would pay cash to enroll his children, it would be at that more convenient location; but because Larry trades, Larry got Steven’s business. Larry also gets students from families that couldn’t or wouldn’t pay his cash tuition; but because Larry trades, students whose parents also trade can afford to send them to Larry’s Mathnasium because they “pay” with their time and services, not their cash. Those same parents also eat at a few high-end restaurants now and then because by trading their time those meals become no more expensive in cash to them than they would pay for a couple delivered pizzas.

In summary:

I can deliver unique, new, quality and qualified customers to you. New because they are not spending with you now, quality because they are local business owners, and qualified because they must have the trade dollars to spend with you in their account before they receive your services.

You’ll get measurable results, right away. I do not add new businesses arbitrarily; my job is to fulfill existing and near-term demand from my existing member owners. That means you’ll begin receiving new business right away when we make your services known to our members.

You’ll build new and longstanding business relationships. Remember, only business owners who provide their services to members on trade can earn trade dollars. They sincerely want to earn your trade dollars and they want to continue providing you their services month after month, year after year.

You’ll meaningfully increase your profit margins on this new business. When your hard cost to earn a trade dollar is pennies on the dollar you in turn purchase things you need for pennies on the dollar – and keep cash. Simply put trade is a way for business owners to leverage their margins on excess capacity to keep cash they otherwise must spend.

You’ll get the best word-of-mouth referrals. Arizona Trade Exchange members are quality people who give quality cash referrals; most in their sphere of influence can’t trade because only a business owner who earns trade by providing their services on trade can spend trade.

You’ll penetrate new markets. Members will travel longer distances to spend trade than to spend cash. You may well find that other trade members would make excellent partners too – for example a restaurant can offer dinner packages that include transportation to and from important sporting and community events by partnering with a trade member transportation services provider; or a granite counter top company can offer grout cleaning and staining as part of a kitchen remodel by partnering with a trade member. Since you’re paying that partner with trade dollars, your cost to offer better service to your cash customer is marginal; but you capture more of your client’s budgeted dollars, provide them real value by discounting the partner’s services, and gain a competitive advantage compared to your competitor who can’t offer discounted value-added services (or doesn’t offer them at all).

I’ll work for you. My job is to stay ahead of the demand curve by adding members who provide the services YOU WANT on trade. We’re rapidly growing so opportunities to provide services that we’ve offered for ten years are now available — but won’t be forever. We “protect” our members so that we don’t add their competition until sufficient demand exists or great distance separates them.

Beneficial trade is as common sense for a business owner as wanting to run as many expenses through his/her business as possible. Proper trade results in your sales going up, your expenses going down (replace cash vendors with trade vendors), and gives you an important advantage over your competitors.

You can spend your trade dollars instead of the cash you are spending now for most anything that is a service, this includes everything from tradesmen and vendors to limo’s and restaurants; from golf and travel to home improvement and even children’s activities. The Arizona Trade Exchange has been in business over 10 years and has over 500 members so we have an impressive variety of goods and services to choose from. Our showroom is open year-round so  purchase gifts on trade; you’ll get more for your money when leveraging your buying power. We have a huge trade fair in November too so you can start each New Year with an abundance of hope instead of an abundance of Visa debt!
